Aditya Apte
Aditya Apte is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist of the Gwalior Gharana and Sarod player of the Maihar Gharana, trained under eminent gurus including Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar and Pt. Pradeep Barot. A graded All India Radio artiste in both vocal and instrumental music, he has performed extensively across India and contributed to films and albums while staying deeply rooted in tradition. Alongside his musical pursuits, he serves as an Assistant Professor at NMIMS University, Mumbai, committed to preserving and promoting the legacy of his rich musical heritage.

Born into a family steeped in classical music, Aditya Madhusudan Apte was nurtured in the arts from an early age by his parents, Mrs. Maneesha Apte and Mr. Madhusudan Apte—both respected vocalists. His early vocal training followed the Gwalior Gharana’s structured and emotionally rich style, which he later deepened under the tutelage of Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, absorbing nuances from the Gwalior, Agra, and Jaipur traditions. Recognizing his affinity for instrumental music, his family encouraged his training in Sarod under Pt. Pradeep Barot of the Maihar Gharana, where he has been undergoing rigorous taalim in the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara for over a decade.
Aditya’s artistry is marked by a rare balance between purity of tradition and contemporary relevance. While his solo performances in vocal and Sarod music continue to draw acclaim across prestigious platforms in India, he has also contributed Sarod pieces to films, music albums, and ad commercials, subtly bridging classical depth with modern aesthetics. Beyond performance, Aditya is deeply committed to education—as an Assistant Professor at NMIMS University, Mumbai, he inspires a new generation of learners while continuing to preserve and promote the musical legacies handed down by his gurus.
